FAQs

Your questions, answered.

  • Can wrapping damage my paintwork?
Absolutely not, it will have the opposite effect! The wrap will protect the paintwork from stone chips and general wear, and can be removed without any damage to the paintwork - leaving the paintwork in the condition it was prior to the install.
  • Can a wrap be polished?
Yes, we advise treating a wrap as if you would paint work of the same type. We recommend using the correct cleaning chemicals and waxes that are produced by the manufacture of the vinyl too. Contact our team if you would like our recommendation of cleaning products.
  • How long does a wrap take to install?
That depends on the type of wrap you are having installed! Typically, wraps usually take between 2 and 4 working days, depending on the complexity of the project.
  • Do I get a warranty on my wrap?
Yes, all vinyl manufacturers give each of their vinyls an expected life expectancy, and guarantee for a certain number of years against shrinkage and discolouration. Shrinkage can cause cracks, failures and discolouring. We, at Goodwin Graphics, provide a full 12-month return to base warranty on the installallation, and if the vinyl is going to fail due to a manufacturing issue, this would happen in the first few weeks. If you experience any of these issues, get in contact with our team with photos or pop in to our workshop.
  • Do I need to notify the DVLA or my insurance company of my wrap?
If your vehicle’s colour has changed by a majority then you will need to notify the DVLA of a colour change. We also recommend informing your insurance provider of the change as well. Failure to do so may result in your insurance being voided, or a rejection of any claims.
  • How do I care for my wrap?
In the first two weeks after your installation, do NOT pressure wash your car. We recommend hand-washing only during this period. After two weeks, you can pressure wash your car, but do not get the nozzle within 30cm of the wrap. We always suggest hand washing and waxing the vinyl to extend the product’s lifespan. Please note that any damage caused by poor maintenance will void your warranty. More information can be found by downloading our aftercare leaflet.
  • What if I don't want to use the suppliers you choose?
There are hundreds of vinyl manufacturers in the world, and some vehicle wrapping companies will use their materials. At Goodwin Graphics, we are firm believers of using the best possible materials that are market-leading in popularity, but most importantly quality. Some brands of wrap will fail within months, the rest in a couple of years. Our wraps stand the test of time and can last up to 10 years, when given the proper care.
  • Can a wrap be removed from a vehicle?
Absolutely! Our vinyl wraps and graphics can be removed easily, providing the correct equipment is used. It's recommended to remove your wrap or signwriting if you're about to sell your vehicle, or return it to your leasing company. Contact our team if you need to book in a de-wrap.
  • Does a vehicle need to be prepped before a wrap?
It's important that we receive any vehicle in the best possible condition. A dirty vehicle will need to be cleaned prior to any work being done, which will affect the timescale and may incur additional charges. The same applies for vehicles with existing wraps and signwriting. This will need to be removed before a new wrap is installed, so please make sure you make our team aware of any existing vinyl.
  • How much does a wrap cost?
There are a lot of variables when it comes to pricing vehicle wrapping jobs, from material and complexity to the size of your van and whether it has plastic bumpers. For small vans, such as a Volkswagen Caddy or Citroen Berlingo, you can expect simple signwriting on all four sides of your vehicle to cost somewhere between £200 and £300 (+VAT). For a partial or half wrap, the price will likely range between £450 and £900 (+VAT), and a full wrap generally start at £1,250(+VAT). For medium vans, such as a Vauxhall Vivaro or L1 H1 Ford Transit Custom, four-sided signwriting can be anywhere between £250 and £350 (+VAT). A partial or half wrap can be between £550 and £1,200 (+VAT), depending on coverage, and a full wrap starts from £1,750 (+ VAT). For large vans, such as a Mercedes Sprinter or Volkswagen Crafter, four-sided signwriting is usually between £300 and £400 (+VAT). A half or partial wrap between £850 and £1,700 (+VAT) and a full wrap starts at around £2,500 (+VAT). These prices are for illustrative purposes only, and your chosen design and coverage may mean that your quoted price looks different to the figures above. We, in all cases, try to keep costs down to ensure all projects are within our customer's budget. If you have a strict budget, please let our team know.
  • How does the wrapping process work?
We offer our services in a few, simple steps: Based on your requirements, we'll provide you with an estimate price for the coverage you need. This price will likely change, based on your final design. If you're happy with your estimate, we will request any artwork fees for designing your wrap, and pass you on to our design team. They will contact you for any initial design requests, and then send you at least three designs for you to choose from. You have three rounds of revisions to get your design perfect! Once you have agreed a design with our team, a detailed quotation will be sent to you with a breakdown of exactly what your installation will cost. Once that's agreed, we will arrange an installation date and take your 50% deposit to confirm and book your installation. When your installation date approaches, we will take delivery of your vehicle at our workshop, valet if pre-agreed and get down to making your vehicle stand out. We'll contact you when your vehicle is ready to be collected. If you have any further questions about this process, please don't hesitate to get in contact with our team.
  • Why do I have to pay an up-front design fee?
This is pretty standard-practice for most design agencies, and we're no different. Taking an up-front fee for our design team's services simply protects us from doing any work for free.
